The US duo of Breezy Johnson and Mikaela Shiffrin took gold in the debut of the Team Combined event at the Alpine World Ski Championships in Saalbach 2025.

Breezy Johnson, the Downhill World Champion, secured her second gold medal, while Mikaela Shiffrin claimed her 15th medal and eighth gold at the Alpine World Ski Championships. The 29-year-old US skier has now matched Christel Cranz's record for most medals won at World Championships with 15 podium finishes.

"This was an amazing day for me, nerve-racking. Breezy did her job spectacularly this morning. It's unbelievable, I am so happy," Shiffrin said.

"She's such a legend. It's super cool to be, like, hitting my stride. And she's been on hers for a decade or more. She said it was nerve-racking, but it's super nerve-racking being Mikaela's teammate too," Johnson said.

Lara Gut-Behrami and Wendy Holdener finished in second place 0.32 seconds behind the USA Team thanks to a superb Slalom run. After finishing 12th in the Downhill, Gut-Behrami saw Holdener set the fastest time in Slalom, moving up ten places to clinch the silver medal. For Holdener it is the 8th World Championships medal, for Gut-Behrami the ninth.

Stephanie Venier and Katharina Truppe secured Bronze in third place, 0.53 seconds behind the winners. After gold in the Super-G, Venier managed to win her second medal at the home World Championships. Truppe added another medal to her record after winning Olympic gold in Beijing in 2022 and a World Championships silver with the team in Are in 2019.
