Under the lights of the Hermann Maier racecourse in Flachau, Camille Rast was crowned "Princess of Snow Space Salzburg" for the first time. Rast finished ahead of Wendy Holdener (+0.16) and Sara Hector (+0.38). It's the second season victory in Slalom for the 25-year-old Swiss skier. With her third podium finish in this season's sixth Slalom event in Flachau, Rast has now taken the lead in both the overall and the discipline’s standings.

Camille Rast skied from eighth place to victory having clocked the second-fastest time on the second run.

It's the first-ever Swiss Slalom victory in Flachau.

"From the start, I could see the whole crowd, which was really cool. I knew that I had to be on top form. I have to ski on instinct and not overthink. That worked really well. At the start of the season, the aim was to get top-7 finishes. I've more than achieved that, which is a real joy," Rast said.

With a fifth-place finish at the Slalom opener in Levi, a third place in Gurgl, her maiden win in Slalom in Killington, two fourth places in Semmering and Kranjska Gora, and today's win, the 25-year-old Rast has confirmed her status as one of the women to watch this season.

"I saw on Instagram yesterday that Mikaela and Petra have won the last six races here. I'm really happy to add a new name to the list today," she added.

Tonight Holdener claimed her 38th podium in Slalom and the 19th time she has finished second in a World Cup Slalom. No Woman finished runner-up as many times in the World Cup Slalom events as Holdener.

She is sixth on the all-time World Cup Slalom podiums behind Mikaela Shiffrin (86), Marlies Schild (56), Vreni Schneider (47), Petra Vlhova (46), and Erika Hess (42).

It is Holdener's third second place this season after the Slalom races in Killington and Kranjska Gora.

"I told myself that I had to go full speed. I thought that the deep marks were only on the first part of the run and was a bit surprised that there were also some on the second section. It was a good fight," Holdener said.

Sara Hector took her second podium in a World Cup slalom. It was in the same place as her first.

"That's so cool, I'm so proud. When you ski so smoothly, it feels pretty good. The snow was hard and was superb to ski," Hector said.
