The Super-G in Sun Valley brought another first-time winner. 23-year-old Lukas Feurstein achieved his first World Cup triumph in the last Super-G of the season in Idaho. He put in a clean strong performance to beat teammate Raphael Haaser by just 0.19 seconds. Franjo Von Allmen rounded up the podium in third place 0.42 seconds off the pace.
It's the first victory for the Men's Austrian Team in the World Cup since Manuel Feller's Slalom victory on February 2024, in Palisades Tahoe. The Austrians had been waiting for a win for 40 consecutive races.
"First World Cup victory sounds cool, so incredibly nice. That was the final goal. The run didn't feel good at all. I was pushing myself to the limit everywhere. But that's what I set out to do. I wanted to attack, I wanted to push hard. I think I did quite well. It's incredibly nice," Feurstein said.
Marco Odermatt received today the Super-G Crystal Globe. After three victories this season, the 27-year-old won his third consecutive globe in this discipline, finishing 215 points ahead of Stefan Rogentin. Kriechmayr finished third.
