Marco Odermatt continued dominating the Giant Slalom on the Gran Risa course. He finished 0.85 seconds ahead of Leo Anguenot and +0.88 seconds ahead of Alexander Steen Olsen. It was his 5th win on the technically demanding Gran Risa. With his 41st Alpine World Cup victory, Odermatt overtook Pirmin Zurbriggen to become the most successful Swiss male skier of all time. Only two other Swiss skiers have managed to win more than Odermatt: Lara Gut-Behrami with 45 and Vreni Schneider with 55.

Third after the first run, the 27-year-old Swiss Ace celebrated his 4th win of the season after setting the fastest time in the second run.

"It was another great second run. When I inspected it, I noticed that it was better than in the morning. The bad layer was gone; it was more regular. That gave me the confidence to attack. Overtaking Pirmin Zurbriggen is a milestone in my career. In the last few months, it has become one of my goals to be the most successful Swiss skier," Odermatt said.

Behind Odermatt, newcomer Leo Anguenot climbed onto the podium. In his 38th World Cup race, the 26-year-old Frenchman made it onto the podium for the first time with second place.

"It’s insane to be on the podium today. It’s just crazy. I did two good runs. The second was maybe more solid than the first one. I made some mistakes but I know that all the mistakes were not too bad if I continued to ski. So I am really happy about today. It wasn’t easy," Anguenot said.

Alexander Steen Olsen finished in third place. This is his second podium of the season after his triumph in Sölden in October.

"It was a really tough second run with bad visibility starting to get quite difficult. I felt like I started really good, and then I kind of got a bit tired at the last part. When I saw I saw three hundredths behind Anguenot I thought ‘I’ve lost the podium there’. Then Filip also got a bit tired, so I ended up on the podium. I am very happy," Steen Olsen said.
