Marco Odermatt Wins Sunday's Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Marco Odermatt wins Sunday's Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, her 9th win of the season. He finished ahead of Raphael Haaser (+0.30) and teammate Franjo Von Allmen (+0.61). It's her second victory in the Super-G this season.

The 26-year-old Swiss Ace is also the fourth man to win at least 12 World Cup Super-G World Cup races, after Hermann Maier (24), Aksel Lund Svindal (17), and Kjetil Jansrud (13).

With 33 wins Odermatt is tied in 10th place with Bode Miller in the Top 10 of most individual World Cup wins in Men's Alpine Ski World Cup events.

After Garmisch-Partenkirchen Marco Odermatt is leading the Overall, Downhill, Super-G, and Giant Slalom World Cup standings.

Odermatt now leads the Super-G standings 121 points ahead of Vincent Kriechmayr with only two remaining races.

"I didn't know whether the snow would recover during the night, but when we looked around we noticed that the slope was significantly harder than yesterday. The organizers' work was great. It was a completely different race than yesterday. We only have one speed weekend left before the season Finals and of course, it's great if you can go into the race on the lead in the fight for the Globes", Odermatt said.

Raphael Haaser today achieved his third podium in the Alpine Ski World Cup, the third in Super-G. The two previous podiums were two second places in Bormio in 2021 and 2023.

"I think it was a pretty good ride, especially compared to yesterday. I lost some time in the middle part. I still managed to get down relatively error-free, and then you’ll see what’s possible", Haaser said.

The Swiss rising star Franjo Von Allmen achieved today his first podium in the Alpine Ski World Cup after only 12 starts. The day before he drove into the top 10 with starting number 44, and a day later the 22-year-old raced onto the podium.

"I can't still believe it. Today I was able to really show what I'm capable of. It's incredible. It was a great slope and was incredibly fun. I wouldn't have dreamed that it would work out like this. It was a wild ride. When I arrived at the finish I didn't have a good feeling, but I was wrong. I just want to have fun and enjoy it, it's a privilege that not everyone has. If you get a result like that, it’s obviously the icing on the cake", he said.
