Mikaela Shiffrin clinched victory in the final Slalom of the season at the Alpine Ski World Cup Finals in Sun Valley.

Lena Dürr claimed second place, finishing 1.13 seconds behind Shiffrin, while Andreja Slokar rounded out the podium, finishing 0.64 seconds behind the American skier.

In another display of talent and determination, Mikaela Shiffrin, the winningest alpine skier of all time, has reached an incredible milestone, claiming 101 wins in 281 races at the Alpine World Ski Cup. Shiffrin won her 64th World Cup Slalom race today. She is the most decorated Slalom skier of any gender, with Ingemar Stenmark (40 wins) and Marlies Schild (35 wins) as her nearest competitors. Lindsey Vonn is the only woman with more World Cup wins (82) in all disciplines than Shiffrin has just in Slalom.

Shiffrin holds the record for the most World Cup podium finishes by any Alpine ski racer, with 157 podiums.

Shiffrin has won eight of the last ten World Cup Slalom races she has started. Today's victory is her fourth Slalom win of the season. She has already won four or more Slaloms in a single season nine times.

Zrinka Ljutic is the second Croatian woman to claim the Slalom Crystal Globe, joining Janica Kostelic, who achieved this in the 2000-2001 and 2005-2006 seasons.

At just 21 years old, Ljutic achieved her first World Cup victory in Slalom on December 29 in Semmering. She followed this up with two more wins in Kranjska Gora and Courchevel, and she also finished in second place in Sestriere.
