After finishing second in yesterday's Downhill, Sofia Goggia imposes her all-on aggressive style at the Birds of Prey course in Beaver Creek today to win the first World Cup Super-G of the 2024-2025 winter season. Lara Gut-Behrami finished in second place 0.48 seconds behind. Ariane Raedler rounded up the podium in third position 0.55 seconds off the pace.

The 32-year-old speed specialist crowned a dream comeback and celebrated her seventh Super-G victory and 25th win in the Alpine Ski World Cup.

"It wasn't easy. It was a race to attack, and I did that, but I didn't have to take any risks. I feel really comfortable on the skis again. My legs aren't causing any problems. So I'm fit and just raced. I love to race in America. The Birds of Prey is a legendary slope," Goggia said.

After today's second place, Lara Gut-Behrami is third on the list of most Super-G podium finishes with 40, behind Lindsey Vonn (46) and Renate Götschl (41).

"I didn't get off to a good start, I fell asleep a bit. From the middle onwards it was good. I'm very happy with the weekend and I'm looking forward to St. Moritz. It was a good run. It was important to me to find my skiing again and that is the most important thing," Gut-Behrami said.

Ariane Raedler achieved in Beaver Creek her second podium of his Alpine Ski World Cup career. She claimed her first podium in the Super-G held in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee on January 16, 2022. One day after her Downhill victory, Cornelia Huetter was left with the ungrateful fourth place pushed out of the podium by her teammate.

"After yesterday's 23rd place in the Downhill, I was very disappointed. Today I told myself that I have to concentrate on my strengths. I didn't feel that good, but it's great finishing on the podium," Raedler said.
